Whether fish, snakes, or frogs, the vivarium is home to many fascinating native and tropical animals. On this guided tour, you’ll get to know them up close. You’ll also get a chance to take a look behind the scenes. If that’s not exciting enough for you, you can watch as individual animals are fed—and maybe you’ll even dare to hold one in your hand?
There’s so much to discover in Upper Lusatia! Everywhere we look, we find footprints, fur, and other animal tracks. Together, we’ll learn to match them to the right animals. And for once, we’re allowed to touch everything to our heart’s content. We’ll stroke real animal fur and get up close and personal with the otter and the beaver.
Do you find the whole museum fascinating? No problem! On the museum scavenger hunt, we’ll take a close look at every corner of the building. Tricky puzzles and fun games await you in every section! Of course, you can ask questions about the animals and plants at any time.
Each year, we present up to six special exhibitions on various natural history topics to our visitors. Some of these are in-house exhibitions created by our exhibition team, which draw on our extensive collections and research findings. Others are exhibitions from other natural history museums, our partner museums at Leibniz and Senckenberg, or external exhibition organizers.
