Preparation laboratory

The staff of the preparation laboratory is responsible for the preparation and preservation of vertebrates for the collection, research purposes and the exhibition. The preparation of plants and the arrangement of exhibitions is a further task of the taxidermists.

Main tasks

  • Preparation and preservation of vertebrates found dead according to the requirement of the scientific collection, current research projects and exhibition plans
  • Data base management of the vertebrate collection
  • Maintenance of the vertebrate collection and the exhibition specimens
  • University teaching in scientific preparation methods
  • Work on the development and arrangement of exhibitions
  • Preparation of plants for exhibitions
