Information for people with disabilities

The museum building is wheelchair accessible and has an elevator. A wheelchair can be borrowed free of charge. The barrier-free WC is accessible via an elevator.

Three disabled parking spaces are located opposite the main museum entrance, Marienplatz/Elisabethstraße (30 m) (route here). The museum is accessible from there.

Information for people with blindness and visual impairments

The Görlitz Natural History Museum offers blind and visually impaired visitors the opportunity to take an individual tour of the museum. A free audio guide system leads them to selected stations in the permanent exhibitions where, for example, casts of whole animals, skulls or skins can be touched. Once there, acoustic descriptions of the objects start automatically. For visitors with touch canes, the exhibitions are also accessible via a floor guidance system.

This inclusion measure was funded by the„Barrierefreies Bauen – Lieblingsplätze für alle“ program of the district of Görlitz and the Leibniz Association’s Action Plan II „Eine Welt in Bewegung“.
