Vivarium
The vivarium presents about 70 species of living reptiles, amphibians, fishes and arthropods in subnaturally arranged basins. Visitors can watch such uncommon and bizarre creatures as the green tree monitor lizard from Papua New Guinea, jesus christ lizards from Costa Rica and ball pythons from central Africa.

Tockner talks: Invasive species?

Prof. Dr. Tockner (since 2021 Director General of the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research) talks about the pollution of the Rhine and the attempt to save it. We cannot simply return to the origin when change occurs: “Once lost is always lost” (Tockner 2021). The non-native life forms have no negative consequences, but there is no way to a river before pollution.

Im Rahmen des Projektes OZUWA soll am 5. April 2025 eine weitere Fläche im Ostritzer Stadtwald bepflanzt werden. Im Vorfeld muss die ausgewiesene Fläche jedoch erst einmal vorbereitet und vor allem vom derzeitigen krautigen Bewuchs befreit werden, damit die jungen Bäume später gut gedeihen können. Wer beim Freischneiden mithelfen möchte, ist am Samstag, dem 22. März herzlich eingeladen, mit anzupacken! Eigenes Werkzeug (Astscheren, Rosenscheren etc.) kann gern mitgebracht werden.
Treffpunkt ist der Eingang zum Ostritzer Stadtwald von der Bernstädter Strasse/S129 aus.

Die Teilnahme an der Pflegeaktion ist kostenlos. Festes Schuhwerk und wetterfeste Kleidung wird benötigt. Die Teilnahme beinhaltet waldestypische Gefahren und erfolgt auf eigene Verantwortung.



Das Angebot ist Teil des Projekts „Oberlausitzer Zukunftswald“ des Senckenberg Museums für Naturkunde Görlitz, der Oberlausitz Stiftung und des Internationalen Begegnungszentrums St. Marienthal. Öffentliche Pflegeaktion im Ostritzer Stadtwald

Zur Vorbereitung einer Pflanzaktion ist der Freischnitt einer Projektfläche im Ostritzer Stadtwald geplant. Anmeldung erforderlich!

Im Rahmen des Projektes OZUWA soll am 5. April 2025 eine weitere Fläche im Ostritzer Stadtwald bepflanzt werden. Im Vorfeld muss die ausgewiesene Fläche jedoch erst einmal vorbereitet und vor allem vom derzeitigen krautigen Bewuchs befreit werden, damit die jungen Bäume später gut gedeihen können. Wer beim Freischneiden mithelfen möchte, ist am Samstag, dem 22. März herzlich eingeladen, mit anzupacken! Eigenes Werkzeug (Astscheren, Rosenscheren etc.) kann gern mitgebracht werden.

Treffpunkt ist der Eingang zum Ostritzer Stadtwald von der Bernstädter Strasse/S129 aus.

Die Teilnahme an der Pflegeaktion ist kostenlos. Festes Schuhwerk und wetterfeste Kleidung wird benötigt. Die Teilnahme beinhaltet waldestypische Gefahren und erfolgt auf eigene Verantwortung.

Das Angebot ist Teil des Projekts „Oberlausitzer Zukunftswald“ des Senckenberg Museums für Naturkunde Görlitz, der Oberlausitz Stiftung und des Internationalen Begegnungszentrums St. Marienthal.
